I started this blog about three months ago. I have made ten posts since. The name of my blog is An Elysian State of Mind. At first, I was doubtful if could relate this title with a blog about books and literature. But still I decided to go along with it. The word ‘Elysian’ has Greek origin and it means ‘a state of bliss and heavenly delight’ and this is what reading books to me is all about. I read them because they make me happy and there is no better word to describe that feeling than this word. A state of mind that can be achieved by reading books. Still, I am trying to modify it a lot. I want to make it so much better and lively: a go to place for all the book lovers.
I had the idea for this blog more than a year ago but for some foolish and other reasons, I decided not to do it. But it was always on my mind. I would make a list in my mind that if a had a blog, these would be the topics I would post about. So, one day, without thinking too much, I logged on to WordPress and made this blog. One thing I was sure about that this was going to be a blog about sharing my opinion about various works of fiction because I love fiction. There is nothing better than it. I read a lot and to gain a deeper understanding of the novels I was reading, I started writing about them. What I liked or did not like, what part of the book that she should be most talked, about the author’s life and etc etc. The best part is you can never talk enough about it. There will always be something new to discover when you reread it.
There are so my reasons one can become a reader for life. Mine was that I had so many questions and books answered them all. They made me feel that I was not alone and at the same time that the world is a much bigger place than you can imagine and you can still find solace in it.
I post every once in a week. This is because my study takes up much of my time. I am still trying to find a balance between the two. But I am studying what I like so it’s not that bad.
I have high hopes for this blog. I know that the beginning will be tough like any other blogger out there who is trying to make it big but one thing I can be sure of is that I will try my best and leave no space empty. What can I say more, I like my readers. I like what I am writing about and I want to write so much more.
